Recently lauded by Boston Musical Intelligencer for her “warm mezzo tone”, Hong Kong mezzo-soprano Jeannette Lee is a sought-after versatile performer who recently placed 4th in the Pendine Voice of the Future at Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod and was a finalist in the 8th Concurso Internacional de Canto Linus Lerner. She was also a prizewinner in the 2023 William C. Byrd Young Artist Competition and received the Hilda Harris Mezzo Soprano Prize at the 2022 George Shirley Vocal Competition.

Jeannette’s operatic roles include Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro (Mozart) with Amalfi Coast Music & Arts Festival, Hansel in Hänsel und Gretel (Humperdinck) with Saltworks Opera and HKU Blackbox, Fox in Cunning Little Vixen (Janáček) and Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Britten) with Miami Music Festival, and Antonia in Das Liebesverbot (Wagner) with Cambridge Chamber Ensemble. Jeannette recently premiered the role of Mom in Emily Koh’s HER | alive.un.dead with Guerilla Opera and will be doing a studio album recording in 2024. This season, she is slated to appear in Boston Lyric Opera’s Madama Butterfly as Chorus and Suzuki Study Cover, Annio in Opera del West’s La clemenza di Tito, Ottavia in West End Lyric’s Il giuoco del quadriglio, and Grandmother Lily in White Snake Projects’ Let’s Celebrate series.
